Counseling with Dr. Dilsworth

Counseling Philosophy:

The counseling portion of our center draws upon Adlerian principles of tolerance, patience and encouragement. An integrative approach to psychology is used in the clinical setting using traditional methods of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), as well as integrative approaches using Mindfulness based practices, Meditation and the ancient practices of yoga. Therapeutic treatments will be based on individual needs and interests.

Psychological services are tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Through various treatment modalities, individuals will have an opportunity to explore unhealthy life patterns, address immediate personal challenges, and explore alternative ways of dealing with personal conflict/turmoil. The most important thing is the quality of your life TODAY. That being said, there are usually patterns of behaviors that have brought you to where you are today and we will take some time to explore those issues (but not dwell), so that you can move on to a healthier, happier life.
