Restorative yoga is an opportunity to restore your body to a naturally peaceful, calm, state. We help you use various props: bolsters, blankets, chairs, blocks, straps and even the wall, to support your body in both seated and supine positions. This added support lets your muscles relax and your mind to calm. Compared to Hatha or yin yoga classes where you are actively elongating the muscles, restorative poses—using the props—help you to more fully-release parts of your body. We’ll focus on 4-6 asana/pose in a class and each pose will be held for 5-15 minutes to enhance relaxation and restoration.
What to expect in class:
· 75 minutes of pure restorative practice, including savasana (4-6 poses/asana total).
· The flickering light of a single candle will illuminate a dark room.
· Soft music will play to encourage deeper relaxation.
Please bring a warm shirt and socks in case you have a tendency to get cold. Class size is limited to 6 people in order to give individual attention as you prepare for each asana/pose.
